Michigan Bricklayer Apprentices compete in International Masonry Skills Challenge

The Mason Contractors Association of America held the annual International Masonry Skills Challenge on February 3, 2016 at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry in Las Vegas, NV. Three apprentices (Travis Buda, First Year; Ken Hernandez, Second Year; Nick Bracy, Third Year) won first place in the Region C Masonry Skills Challenge held October 2015 at the MI BAC Training Center in Lansing. This qualified them to represent BAC Local 2 of MI in Las Vegas.

All of the apprentices did an excellent job competing in cold weather (29 degrees) for Las Vegas! I'm sure they were used to it working in Michigan!

Nick Bracy with Bracy & Jahr achieved Third Place in the Third Year Category, Ken Hernandez with Vandermay Construction achieved Third Place in the Second Year Category, and Travis Buda with Baker Construction was extremely close to placing in the First Year Category.

BAC Local 2 and the Training Center's couldn't be more proud of them and how well they represented BAC Local 2 in an international masonry competition!
